Saira & Ricky found me through a mutual friend and planned the most EPIC New Years Eve Wedding at the Bethesda Marriott just outside of Washington, DC. When they asked if I was available, my answer was YES!!!!
Backstory: 5 weeks before this wedding I had major surgery. Like Major, major surgery, taking a body part out surgery. About 4 years before this I was diagnoses with uterine fibroid cysts and they were growing...fast. I had intense pain, discomfort, and looked like I was 7 months pregnant ( which I WASN'T) you name it, I was going through it. So , right after Thanksgiving, I had a gap in my schedule to where I could have the surgery and be healed hopefully enough to get beck to what I love doing most; serving and caring for couples and their families on wedding days. I had a hysterectomy and Saira & Ricky's wedding day marked 5 weeks after my surgery date. I took extreme care of myself to ensure I was at 100% to shoot their wedding day as this was a 12 hour event for the books! I woke up and headed to the Bethesda Marriott just outside of Washington DC and felt amazing. I knew it was gonna be a killer night!
I had the opportunity to photograph Saira & Ricky's engagement session in Georgetown, Washington DC and ADORED our time together, I was literally counting down the days until their wedding day! These two together are so at ease and up for anything they made my job way to easy! Fast forward to New Years Eve!
This was THE party to take us out of 2018 and bring us into 2019. Saira was giving me full on Cinderella vibes and her bright pop of color was her bouquet of red roses that complemented her red ruby jewelry and tat insanely perfect red lip! The couple incorporated cultural traditions from Saira's family, the couples grandparents were the flower girls, the dance floor was an EPIC dance party, the couples first dance was a choreographed showstopper with a sweet Bollywood style and there was a midnight balloon drop! The party literally never stopped and I never felt so good shooting a marathon wedding day.
