City Park Wedding Photographer- New Orleans Wedding Photographer - Kristin & Steven

Kristin and Stevens wedding day took place on February 29, 2020 in gorgeous City Park in New Orleans, Louisiana. The couple booked a few rooms at the Melrose Mansion to get ready at and walking into the room, I immediately was overwhelmed with joy! We had been looking forward to this day for literally two years!! Kristin made surety book all of ver vendors far in advance due to the popularity of her wedding date - it's Leap Year!

My first conversation with Kristin was over the phone and we literally talked about EVERYTHING other than wedding planning. We both love our city of New Orleans and everything Mardi Gras. I kid you not, for almost an hour, nothing wedding related was talked about. From parades to our favorite bars and restaurants; she's definitely my kind of girl!

Setting up the date of their engagement session coincided with her and Stephens move to Austin, Texas. We were able to take a day and explore some of their favorite parts of Uptown and pop some bottles at The Fly. We made sure to make each moment count so that the couple would have these memories to look back on after the big move.

Leading up to their wedding day we were in a lot of contact making sure we had all the details in place. And the moment I waled in the the bridal suite at the Melrose Mansion, I immediately dropped my gear and gave my girl a big hug! I missed her dearly and was so happy for this day to arrive. Kristin and Stephen wanted to do a first look so that we could get as many photos taken care of before the ceremony at the Popp Bandstand and reception at the Parkview Terrace.

There were so many moments throughout the day that I will never forget. The reaction of Kristins Bridesmaids seeing her in her gown for the first time, first dances always put me in my feelings but, Kristin decided to dance with her Uncle as her parents were in the Philippines and unable to attend due to her moms health. Everyone was crying, even me! It was a moment for sure!! But the best moment hands down was when two friends that were a part of the Krewe of Nyx created a special purse throw specifically to commemorate Kristins wedding day and presented it to her. Kristin missed Mardi Gras this year due to work schedules and was really bummed out having to miss it and this special throw was everything!!

Being on the journey with a couple and getting to know them as individuals and forming real friendships with them makes wedding days so much sweeter. I've always told couples, I don't want to be just a hired shooter for the day, I want to be a part of your journey and for us to become friends so that when your wedding day arrives, we have a legit relationship and the day is made so much sweeter and for Kristin and Stephen it was. <3
