First time meeting Chelsea & James was for their engagement Session at the Sagamore Spirit Distillery. It was cold out, the Raven's were playing at home and we had a few drinks to warm up. Tier Engagement session was effortless fun, full of laughter and crazy good smiles. We were all so stoked for their wedding day in November of 2020....and then COVID happened. Chelsea & James like many couples decided to postpone their wedding day until June of 2021, but, they still wanted to get married on their new wedding day on 2020. June 26 ( 626 day for those Disney fans out there), became there new day and it just so happened that I was back in Maryland for the week shooting portrait sessions and visit family. Honestly, I would have driven the 1100 miles to the Baltimore area to be there for them.
We brainstormed ideas for about a week finding a location we could just pop into for the hour and not incur any venue fees. Me, being me, I knew of a few spaces that were accessible and open to the public and dog friendly as their fur baby was attending as well!
Surrounded my immediate family and the couples closest friends - all of which are couples that I've photographed weddings and family portrait sessions for, were all in attendance. Chelsea chose to wear the sleek, minimalistic, super romantic gown that as perfection on her and James was overjoyed to see his bride, walked in by her father on a day that will forever be their anniversary.
This couple chose love over Covid and their love and celebration of this wild journey called life prevailed over the pandemic. I wish these two all the best over this next year, and next year - we will dance and drink and revel in joy because love perseveres.
